Opening Ceremonies began with the raising of the flags of the competitors from 9 countries including Sweden, Finland, Germany, United States, Japan, Norway, Israel, Denmark and Switzerland.

18 Open (3 per team) and 3 womens (2 per team) teams have registered for freestyle. The first round will be Wednesday, with the semis on Friday and the finals on Sunday in Helsinki. On monday we will be doing a demonstration at the World Games in Lahti, Finland. If all goes well Freestyle could be a part of the 2001 World Games in Japan.
